Although Batista’s public message has shifted back to an interest in fighting mixed martial arts for Strikeforce, many still believe he will, at some point down the line, return to the world of wrestling.<\/p>\n
As far as domestic wrestling involvement is confirmed, F4WOnline.com notes that Batista told reporters at last week’s Strikeforce event that if he were to eventually return to the ring, it would be for WWE. “The Animal” did, however, note that TNA tried to court him with some strong offers.<\/p>\n
— In a follow-up to the report that Freddie Prinze, Jr. will return to WWE in a producer-director capacity, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that a big component of the deal was the fact that he would not have to regularly travel to WWE Headquarters in Stamford.<\/p>\n
Prinze, Jr. raised that condition when he approached WWE about a return late this summer, and it was apparently honored.<\/p>\n
His primary role going forward will be to work on television shoots, including those for pre-taped segments and backstage vignettes. Despite the note about travel concerns, Prinze, Jr. is expected to attend many of those shoots in person.
