Telemundo actually deleted a press release saying Luis Fonsi would be performing the song on the show, but an article on the Billboard website confirms he will be taking the stage.<\/p>\n<p>Fonsi will also receive the Spirit of Hope Award.<br \/>\n====<\/p>\n<p>Luis Fonsi, the artist behind the global smash &#8220;Despacito,&#8221; is headed to the Billboard Latin Music Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Telemundo confirms that he will perform his hit during the April 27 broadcast.  The performance will mark the song&#8217;s worldwide television premiere.<\/p>\n<p>Fonsi will also receive the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award during the broadcast.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Luis Fonsi is this year\u2019s recipient of the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award for his career-long pledge to children fighting childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases through his work with St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital,&#8221; says the official press release.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Being in the music business has allowed me to travel the world and meet some amazing people,\u201d notes Fonsi. \u201cBut nothing compares to the brave children I have met at St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital. They are so courageous as they fight against cancer and other life-threatening diseases.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Spirit Of Hope Award was created in honor of Selena.
