Off for last week’s presidential address, NBC’s “This Is Us” returned with an original Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
It posted episode-to-episode gains in adults 18-49 and total viewership.<\/p>\n
According to final data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s episode drew a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 11.15 million overall viewers. The previous broadcast posted a 2.5 and 9.35 million.<\/p>\n
This week’s viewer figure ranks as a series high.<\/p>\n
In addition to the glowing reception to the previous episode and excitement as the season finale nears, “This Is Us” may have benefited from the return of its “The Voice” lead-in.<\/p>\n
“The Voice” posted a 2.6 rating and drew 11.62 million viewers in the 8PM hour.<\/p>\n
While “This Is Us” outperformed “The Voice” in adults 18-49 (and is clearly not dependent<\/em> on the lead-in), the music show still provided stronger support than recent lead-in “The Wall.”<\/p>\n Both shows dominated their timeslots in adults 18-49; “This Is Us” also won its timeslot in viewership. It was the night’s #1 show, moreover, in adults 18-49.<\/p>\n “This Is Us” led into “Chicago Justice,” which drew a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating and 6.08 million viewers in the 10PM hour.
