New releases from 3OH!3 and The-Dream were no match for Eminem’s “Recovery” on the album sales chart this week as the rap veteran’s latest studio effort crossed the one million sales threshold en route to a dominant second frame.<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double estimates, “Recovery” moved about another 325,000 units this week, a figure that more than doubles that of Drake’s “Thank Me Later,” a fellow rap holdover that saw another 105,000 copies move from the shelves.<\/p>\n
The news was not as good for Miley Cyrus’ “Can’t Be Tamed,” which debuted to barely more than 100,000 sales last week. This week, the album’s sales fell to just over 30,000 units for a likely ninth place finish.<\/p>\n
With the soundtrack for “Eclipse” landing in third thanks to buzz from the release of the movie (roughly 71,000 copies moved this week), The-Dream’s new “Love King” settled for fourth with about 59,000 3OH!3’s “Streets of Gold,” meanwhile, scored sixth place on sales of roughly 41,000.<\/p>\n
There were no other hot debuts in the top fifteen; according to the Hits chart, Scissor Sisters’ “Night Work” was the next best debut, landing in twentieth on volume of 16,000.
