Update:<\/b> Billboard has made the news official: Kings Of Leon’s “WALLS” is #1 on the Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts. It is the band’s first #1 album in the United States.<\/p>\n
“WALLS” tops the sales chart with what Billboard reports as 68K pure US sales during its first week of release. The inclusion of TEA (track sales\/10) and SEA (track streams\/1500) yields an opening week consumption total of 77K, which is enough for #1 on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
Drake’s “Views” follows at #2 on the Billboard 200 with 40K units, while “Suicide Squad: The Album” grabs #3 on the strength of its 35K weekly units.<\/p>\n
The Game’s “1992” debuts at #4 with 32K units (25K in pure sales), while Twenty One Pilots’ “Blurryface” earns #5 thanks to a weekly unit total of 26K.<\/p>\n
Credited with 25K units (19K from sales), JoJo’s “Mad Love” debuts at #6.

\nKings Of Leon’s “WALLS” predictably dominated the weekly US album sales race. It also handily led in consumption and will thus claim #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double, “WALLS” sold approximately 67,340 pure US copies during the October 14-20 tracking week. The tally, which nearly triples that of the #2 album, will easily be enough for #1 on Top Album Sales.<\/p>\n
The inclusion of TEA (track sales\/10) and SEA (track streams\/1500) yields an opening week consumption total of 77,336 units. The unit figure will earn “WALLS” #1 on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data will differ slightly from that reported by Hits. The discrepancies will not, however, change the overall conclusion: “WALLS” will be #1 on the pure sales and consumption charts.<\/p>\n
While it did not post the band’s best opening week sales figure, “WALLS” will be the first Kings Of Leon album to claim #1 on the Billboard 200. Its previous two albums “Mechanical Bull” (2013) and “Come Around Sundown” (2010), which previously ranked as the band’s highest charting albums, both peaked at #2.<\/p>\n
