From a live+same-day standpoint, this week’s “American Horror Story: Roanoke” was down slightly from last week’s episode.<\/p>\n
It was still by far the night’s #1 cable original in adults 18-49. It was the #2 cable broadcast in total viewership.<\/p>\n
According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s “AHS” drew a 1.69 adults 18-49 rating and 3.08 million total viewers. Last week’s episode posted a 1.79 rating and 3.28 million in viewership.<\/p>\n
The broadcast was by far the top cable original in the key demo. It, moreover, beat timeslot competition from NBC and CBS. Only ABC’s “Designated Survivor” (1.8) drew a bigger adults 18-49 rating in the 10PM timeslot.<\/p>\n
Wednesday’s “Roanoke” also deserves credit for outdrawing the corresponding season five\/”Hotel” episode in adults 18-49. After drawing a much stronger 2.15 rating in week two, “Hotel” slipped to a 1.67 in week three.<\/p>\n
The third “Hotel” did, however, draw a slightly stronger live+same-day viewership total (3.20 million).<\/p>\n
Not simply a strong live+same-day performer, “American Horror Story” typically receives big lifts from DVR.
