Given the premiere’s strong live+same-day performance and stellar DVR gains, it should come as no surprise that NBC wants more “This Is Us.”<\/p>\n
Tuesday afternoon — hours before the second episode airs — NBC announced that it ordered an additional five episodes of the critically acclaimed drama.<\/p>\n
The order brings the first season total to 18. While the count is shy of the conventional 22, NBC is still referring to the move as a “full-season order.”<\/p>\n

Citing L+5 data, NBC says last Tuesday’s “This Is Us” premiere drew a 4.5 adults 18-49 rating and 14.3 million total viewers.<\/p>\n
