third &#8220;Tonight Show&#8221; visit of 2016.  It is his fourth overall appearance on the show.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike his previous appearances on the show, Mendes does not simply deliver the conventional, show-closing musical performance.  He also sits in with The Roots for a &#8220;Hashtags: Fall Songs&#8221; segment.<\/p>\n<p>Mendes&#8217; appearance comes in support of his new album &#8220;Illuminate,&#8221; which releases Friday.
