According to final national data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s broadcast drew a 2.2 adults 18-49 and 10.04 million total viewers. It was the 10PM timeslot’s #1 show in both columns.<\/p>\n
It, moreover, was the entire night’s #2 program in viewers. Only “Empire” drew a larger audience.<\/p>\n
The show skewed fairly old, and the overall viewership figure is more impressive than the adults 18-49 rating. Still, a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating for a 10PM drama in 2016 is definitely not something at which to sneeze — especially if “Designated Survivor” can stay in that general range moving forward.<\/p>\n
ABC’s Wednesday lineup also included “The Goldbergs” (2.0, 6.90 million), “Speechless” (2.0, 7.38 million), “Modern Family” (2.6, 8.24 million), and “black-ish” (2.0, 6.39 million).

“Designated Survivor” almost certainly skewed older than “Empire,” but there is still reason to believe the show posted a solid adults 18-49 figure. The fast national ratings report, which will include preliminary adults 18-49 and viewership numbers, is due by 11:15AM ET.<\/p>\n
