Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Closer&#8221; was one of several Halsey releases to earn a new certification in the past few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Her radio single &#8220;New Americana&#8221; officially went platinum (1 million) on August 26, while songs &#8220;Hold Me Down,&#8221; &#8220;Ghost,&#8221; &#8220;Colors,&#8221; and &#8220;Gasoline&#8221; all earned gold honors (500,000).<\/p>\n<p>Her album &#8220;Badlands&#8221; ascended to platinum status on September 7, confirming 1 million in album units.
