Last month, news broke that Apple Music had ordered a standalone adaption of James Corden’s popular “Carpool Karaoke” sketch.<\/p>\n
Thursday, another popular segment from Corden’s “The Late Late Show” received a series order.<\/p>\n
TBS confirms that it gave the greenlight to a series adaptation of “Drop The Mic.” Corden, Ben Winston, and Jensen “Hot Karl” Karp are executive producing the show.<\/p>\n
As with the “Carpool Karaoke” show, Corden will not be hosting or regularly appearing on the standalone version of “Drop The Mic.”<\/p>\n
TBS’ order is for sixteen episodes. Each will feature four celebrities competing in a “rap battle royale”; the studio audience will select the winner.<\/p>\n
