Not simply down from last week’s numbers, this week’s edition of “Scream” set live+same-day lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.<\/p>\n
According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Monday’s episode posted a 0.17 adults 18-49 rating and 348,000 total viewers.<\/p>\n
The numbers trail the 0.27 rating and 0.50 million viewer mark drawn by last week’s episode. They are also below the 0.22 rating and 0.40 million viewership figure posted by the second season premiere, which aired on Memorial Day and previously ranked as the series’ worst-performing episode.<\/p>\n
In addition to facing competition from the NBA Finals, Monday’s “Scream” also aired with weaker lead-in support than the previous two episodes. While the May 30 and June 6 airings followed the well-rated “Teen Mom 2,” last night’s followed “Are You The One.”<\/p>\n
Though stronger than the lead-in support “Scream” typically received during its first season, the 0.37 adults 18-49 rating and 0.69 million viewership sum posted by last night’s “Are You The One” dramatically trail the 0.92 rating and 1.64 million audience total garnered by last week’s “Teen Mom.”<\/p>\n
The reduced lead-in support does not entirely justify the weak performance: “Scream” still turned away more than half its lead-in, and it really should have a built-in audience by now.<\/p>\n
