It may have slightly bested the premiere in adults 18-49 and total viewership, but Friday’s “Outcast” was still a dismal live+same-day performer.<\/p>\n
According to national data posted by Showbuzz, episode two of the exorcism-themed drama drew a 0.07 adults 18-49 rating and 193,000 total viewers. While up from the 0.06 and 152,000 viewer mark posted by last week’s premiere (numbers bottlenecked by the fact that last week’s episode was available on streaming\/on-demand services in advance of its TV broadcast), the numbers are still very disappointing.<\/p>\n
The numbers are well below those drawn by Cinemax’s “Banshee” throughout its final season, and “Banshee” was not known as a particularly strong ratings performer.<\/p>\n
“Outcast,” meanwhile, has the enormous theoretical advantage of coming from the same Robert Kirkman responsible for AMC’s juggernaut “The Walking Dead.” Its launch, accordingly, received a considerable amount of hype.<\/p>\n
