The second season premiere of MTV’s “Scream,” which aired in the show’s new Monday at 11PM timeslot, posted live+same-day lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.<\/p>\n
According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Monday’s episode drew a 0.22 adults 18-49 rating and 0.40 million total viewers.<\/p>\n
The numbers trail the 0.45 rating and 1.03 million viewer mark drawn by the series premiere, the 0.34 rating and 0.76 million viewer mark posted by the first season finale, and the 0.28 rating and 0.55 million viewer mark attained by the August 25 episode, which previously ranked as the show’s lowest-rated and least-watched broadcast.<\/p>\n
Monday’s “Scream” premiere also struggled in the younger demographics more actively courted by MTV; it drew a mere 0.25 with adults 18-34, a weak 0.33 with females 12-34 and a very soft 0.10 with males 12-34. Those numbers also represent series lows.<\/p>\n
In addition to airing in a later, lower-impact hour than the first season episodes (which aired at 10PM on Tuesdays), Monday’s “Scream” premiere was burdened with airing on Memorial Day.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, this week’s episode received far stronger lead-in support than was typically afforded to last year’s episodes. MTV’s 10PM “Teen Mom” broadcast drew a 0.73 adults 18-49 rating and 1.31 million total viewers.<\/p>\n
