RedOne’s “Don’t You Need Somebody,” which features Enrique Iglesias, R. City, Shaggy and Serayah, is set to receive a formal push at pop radio.<\/p>\n
The WB Records-promoted single will officially go for adds on June 14. Other songs impacting that day include The Strumbellas’ alternative crossover “Spirits” and Jordan Fisher’s “All About Us.”<\/p>\n
“Don’t You Need Somebody” RedOne’s first official single as a lead artist. He is best known as the producer behind songs released by artists like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Sean Kingston, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, and One Direction.<\/p>\n
“The reason I chose to become a producer in the first place was being able to explore the sheer number of ideas and musical styles I had,\u201d says RedOne, per a WB Records press release. \u201cIt enabled me to work with artists in all different genres.<\/p>\n
“I thought that to be a performer, you had to stick to a single sound, and I loved too many kinds of music to do that. But now I find myself wanting to get back to singing and playing, and friends like Enrique have encouraged me to do so. I want to be an artist in a new way, rather than the traditional one.
