Update:<\/b> Billboard has confirmed<\/a> that The Lumineers’ “Cleopatra” debuts at #1 on the Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts.<\/p>\n

It leads the former with what Billboard reports as 108K in pure US album sales. It tops the latter with 125K in total consumption (pure sales + track sales\/10 + track streams\/1500).<\/p>\n

It seizes the sales chart throne from Chris Stapleton’s “Traveller” and the BB200 throne from Kanye West’s “The Life Of Pablo.”<\/p>\n

The two albums are #3 and #4, respectively, on this week’s Billboard 200. In addition to “Cleopatra,” they trail Deftones’ new “Gore” (71K units, 69K from sales).<\/p>\n

The Kanye West album holds in the Top 5 almost entirely on the strength of streams. SEA (track streams\/1500) comprises all but 1K of its 47K weekly consumption units.<\/p>\n

With an opening week total that bests even the upgraded mid-week projections, The Lumineers’ “Cleopatra” wins the US album sales race.<\/p>\n

According to Hits Daily Double, “Cleopatra” sold approximately 105,662 pure US copies during the April 8-14 tracking week. <\/p>\n

Billboard’s final, more authoritative data will differ, but the discrepancy will not change the overall outcome: “Cleopatra” will debut at #1 on Top Album Sales.<\/p>\n

It will also debut at #1 on the consumption-driven Billboard 200. With TEA (track sales\/10) and SEA (track streams\/1500) added to the pure sales total, Hits says “Cleopatra” generated approximately 122,763 weekly consumption units. The count bests that of the week’s #2 album by almost 55K.<\/p>\n

Deftones’ “Gore,” that album, generated approximately 68,188 in total consumption (with ~65,462 coming from pure sales). It will be the runner-up on Top Album Sales and the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n

Chris Stapleton’s “Traveller,” which topped last week’s pure sales chart, slips to #3 this week with approximately 37,906 copies. Other notable pure sales performers: Adele’s “25” (~23,287), Zakk Wylde’s “Book Of Shadows II” (~19,596), Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals’ “Call It What It Is” (~18,957), Joey + Rory’s “Hymns” (~17,276), and twenty one pilots’ “Blurryface” (~16,872).<\/p>\n

Kanye West’s “The Life Of Pablo,” which topped last week’s Billboard 200 consumption chart, remains in the Top 5. The album was completely off the radar from a sales standpoint this week, but it still managed ~43,710 in total consumption units. SEA makes up the overwhelming majority of that total.<\/p>\n
