After turning in a series low performance last week, The CW’s “iZombie” enjoyed welcome improvement for its season two finale.<\/p>\n
According to national data posted by Showbuzz, the two-part finale drew a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating and 1.36 million total viewers in the 8PM hour; it followed with a 0.5 and 1.22 million at 9PM.<\/p>\n
While the hour-to-hour drop-off is unfortunate, both hours outperformed last week’s episode. The April 5 “iZombie” drew a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating and a total audience of 1.07 million.<\/p>\n
For better or for worse, “iZombie” had previously demonstrated that its performance is not markedly tied to lead-in support from The CW’s flagship series “The Flash.” The 9PM show’s numbers do not dramatically increase when an original “Flash” airs in the 8PM hour, and they do not notably sink when one does not.<\/p>\n
This week’s episode, however, provided a new bit of insight: “iZombie” can apparently draw its own audience at 8PM.<\/p>\n
The first part of Tuesday’s finale fared markedly better than “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” does in the introductory hour on Monday; it was even with or better than what “The Vampire Diaries” has been doing on Fridays.
