NBC officials are most certainly smiling Wednesday, as the rating for Tuesday’s “Parenthood,” which was just renewed for a second season, climbed to its highest figure since the series premiere.<\/p>\n
Building off a 3.3 lead-in from “The Biggest Loser” (with a 3.9 in the final half-hour), “Parenthood” posted a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating with 7.22 million viewers.<\/p>\n
Though the show undoubtedly benefitted this week from a repeat of CBS’ 10PM occupant “The Good Wife” (and, unlike last week, no additional competition from FOX’s “Glee”), its rating is a positive sign that the critically-adored show is becoming a stable player for the network.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, “Lost” dropped to a low 3.6 rating with 9.35 million viewers.
