With 2013’s wildly successful “The Sound Of Music Live,” NBC confirmed the market’s interest in live, televised musicals.<\/p>\n
In 2017, it will seek to confirm that television viewers are also interest in live dramas.<\/p>\n
NBC has confirmed that it will air a live staging of Aaron Sorkin’s “A Few Good Men.”<\/p>\n
\u201cI am thrilled that Aaron Sorkin is coming back to NBC to adapt and produce a live broadcast of his electrifying play \u2018A Few Good Men,\u2019 which seems as timely as ever today,\u201d said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. \u201cAaron is one of the most acclaimed theater, television and film authors of our time, and I am pleased that the live event business that we pioneered with musicals is now expanding into other genres and attracting artists of his caliber. I look forward to his collaboration with our \u2018A-team\u2019 producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, to bring another exciting piece of live drama to a broad audience.\u201d <\/p>\n
“A Few Good Men” made its Broadway premiere in 1989. Sorkin later adapted the film into a 1992 movie, which received a Best Picture nomination and is regarded as a modern classic.<\/p>\n
“For NBC\u2019s \u201cA Few Good Men,\u201d which will be based on the stage version, Sorkin will write the teleplay adaptation and also executive produce along with Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Casting and a specific airdate in early 2017 will be announced at a later date,” says NBC.<\/p>\n
