In a Tuesday afternoon press release, Disney Music Group confirmed that Sofia Carson had signed a joint, worldwide record deal with Republic and Hollywood Records.<\/p>\n

It also confirmed the debut date for the “Descendants” star’s debut single.<\/p>\n

Per the release, Carson’s “Love Is The Name” will be serviced to US pop radio on April 7. The singer-actress will premiere the song on Radio Disney that same day.<\/p>\n

The song will then be made available for sale and global streaming on April 8. An alternate version featuring J Balvin will also be released for global streaming and international purchase.<\/p>\n

“Love Is The Name” features an interpolation of Opus’ “Live Is Life.” \u00a0A BMI listing says the song was previously registered with Demi Lovato as the designated artist.<\/p>\n

“I am honored to be a part of Hollywood Records and Republic Records,” said Carson of her formally confirmed record deal. “I feel immensely thankful… I cannot wait to share my music with the world.”<\/p>\n
