After getting off to a strong start Friday, “Kick Ass” ended up forfeiting its number one spot at the weekend box office, according to early estimates.<\/p>\n
At press time, it looked like fourth week film “How to Train Your Dragon” would eclipse “Kick Ass.” Estimates have the show leading very narrowly, pulling $20 million to “Kick Ass”‘s $19.8 million. Monday’s actuals could, however, fluctuate enough to change the dynamic at the top of the order.<\/p>\n
“Date Night” followed in third with $17.3 million, narrowly eclipsing the total for remake “Death at a Funeral” ($17 million).<\/p>\n
“Clash of the Titans,” last week’s number one, rounded out the top five with $15.8 million.<\/p>\n
