As Maren Morris’ debut single “My Church” continues making gains on the country airplay, Hot Country Songs, and Hot 100 charts, news comes regarding her forthcoming debut album.<\/p>\n

Entitled “Hero,” Morris’ first full-length release is set to arrive on June 3. It features eleven tracks, all of which were co-written by Morris.<\/p>\n

In addition to “My Church,” Columbia Nashville’s press release touts the inclusion of fan-favorite “80s Mercedes,” the “steamy” “How It’s Done,” the vocally powerful album closer “Once” and “I Wish I Was,” which inspired the album’s name.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018I Wish I Was\u2019 is the most autobiographical song on this record and I admittedly was not the hero in that story, but I am the hero in mine,” notes Morris. “I’ve come such a long way from who I was in Texas, who I am as a writer, who I am as a woman today. I think the message of this record is self acceptance and awareness, and that to me is heroic.”<\/p>\n
