Two weeks ago, an aggressive radio push allowed Keith Urban’s “Break On Me” to leapfrog Carrie Underwood’s “Heartbeat” and claim #1 on the Mediabase country radio singles chart.<\/p>\n
Last week, Randy Houser’s “We Went” accomplished the same feat.<\/p>\n
There was no leapfrogging “Hearbeat” this week, however. Up one place, “Heartbeat” earns #1 on the official chart.<\/p>\n
In seizing the throne from “We Went” (which slips to #5), “Heartbeat” becomes Underwood’s third straight #1. “Smoke Break” and “Little Toy Guns,” her previous two singles, also reached the apex of the Mediabase chart.<\/p>\n
With her Brad Paisley duet “Remind Me” included, this represents Underwood’s twentieth number one hit at country radio. Since “Inside Your Heaven” reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and “Somethin’ Bad (Miranda Lambert duet)” and “Something In The Water” reached #1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs (the latter also topped Hot Christian Songs), Underwood’s label Arista Nashville will likely tout “Heartbeat” as her 23rd total #1.<\/p>\n
Not simply the leader in Mediabase chart points, “Heartbeat” also ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s most played and most heard song for the March 6-12 tracking week.<\/p>\n
It received format-leading spin and audience impression counts of ~8,545 (+262) and 62.630 million (+1.578 million).<\/p>\n
Positioned between “Heartbeat” (#1) and the aforementioned “We Went” (#5) are Zac Brown Band’s “Beautiful Drug” (#2, +1), Cole Swindell’s “You Should Be Here” (#3, +3**) and Brett Eldredge’s “Drunk On Your Love” (#4, +1).<\/p>\n
