Since the character truly began taking shape after the infamous 1997 Montreal Screwjob, the feeling was that a beatdown at the hands of Bret “Hit Man” Hart was a fitting culmination for the heel boss persona. Vince McMahon might still appear on television occasionally, but sources say he no longer sees clear value in working the heel gimmick as an active storyline component.<\/p>\n
McMahon is notorious for believing television should be filled with younger acts, and his anti-old age mindset undoubtedly played a part in wanting to bring the character’s run to an end.
