There may also be a story in the fact that the midseason premiere of NBC’s “Blindspot” narrowly trailed the fall finale — and dramatically trailed the series premiere — in adults 18-49 and total viewership.<\/p>\n
NBC, however, is focusing on a different story: the fact that the two series dominated their network competition and led NBC to victory (among the key adults 18-49 demographic) in six of the night’s six primetime half-hour timeslots.<\/p>\n
A preliminary NBC ratings press release notes that “The Voice” drew a 3.4 adults 18-49 rating and 13.236 million total viewers in its 8-10PM ET slot. Not great compared to the show’s historical standard, the adults 18-49 rating was down only slightly from the 3.5 posted by the fall premiere. The 13.236 million viewer mark bests the 12.371 million sum posted by the fall launch.<\/p>\n
The biggest takeaway is the fact that “The Voice” cruised to victory in its timeslot — and ranked as the night’s overall #1 TV program.<\/p>\n
With what NBC reports as a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating and 6.840 million total viewers, “Blindspot” was down to a series low in both columns. It was also off from the fall finale, which drew a 1.9 and 7.026 million.<\/p>\n
Like “The Voice,” it still led its timeslot in adults 18-49. It was second to “NCIS: LA” in viewers.<\/p>\n
