With several days of data now available, Hits Daily Double has elevated the opening week sales projection for Chris Brown’s “Royalty.”<\/p>\n
The album, which was initially expected to sell 125-135,000 US copies during its first week of release, is now on track for a bow in the 135-145,000 range.<\/p>\n
A bow in the 135-145,000 territory would narrowly trail the 146,000 posted by Brown’s previous album “X.” <\/p>\n
With Adele’s “25” expected to sell another million copies this week, “Royalty” will not contend for the top spot on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart. It does, however, have a shot at the #2 position.<\/p>\n
Its closest competition will come from Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” (projected for 125-135,000) and Pentatonix’s “That’s Christmas To Me” (projected for 115-125,000).<\/p>\n
