Per Nielsen Music, “Purpose” sold 99,523 US copies during the official tracking week. The tally, which was the week’s third-best (behind Adele’s “25” and Pentatonix’s “That’s Christmas To Me”), brought the album’s cumulative US total to 1,014,131.<\/p>\n

“Purpose” is the fifth album to sell over 1 million copies in the 2015 calendar year. It is also his fifth album to join the million sales club.

Justin Bieber’s “Purpose,” which had already been certified platinum based on its shipment count, now boasts a US consumer sales total in excess of 1 million.<\/p>\n

According to data from Hits Daily Double, Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” sold approximately 102,084 US copies during the December 11-17 tracking week.<\/p>\n

Billboard’s more authoritative data will differ slightly, but insofar as “Purpose” only needed about 85.4K copies to reach the 1 million mark, it surely got the job done.<\/p>\n

“Purpose,” which did not arrive until November 13, is the fifth album to reach 1 million US sales during the 2015 calendar year. Adele’s “25,” Taylor Swift’s “1989,” Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late,” and Ed Sheeran’s “x” had previously crossed the checkpoint.<\/p>\n
