After moving a record 3.38 million last week and now 1.11 million this week, “25” becomes the first album (since Soundscan tracking began in 1991) to sell at least 1 million copies in two separate weeks.<\/p>\n
With Track Equivalent Albums (track sales\/10) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (track streams\/1500) added to the pure sales total, “25” generated 1.16 million consumption units during the November 27-December 3 tracking week. That allows the album to retain the top spot on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n

Update:<\/b> According to Nielsen Music, Adele’s “25” sold a whopping 1.11 million US copies during the November 27-December 3 tracking period, which marked its second week of release.<\/p>\n
In doing so, it became the first album since Soundscan tracking commenced in 1991 to sell over a million copies in two separate weeks.<\/p>\n
Last week, the album debuted with a record 3.38 million first week sales.<\/p>\n
In addition to bringing the album’s cume to a monstrous 4.49 million, the 1.11 million second-week figure allows “25” to retain its top spot on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.<\/p>\n
It will also retain its top spot on the consumption-oriented Billboard 200. More details on that chart, which ranks albums based on the combination of pure sales, Track Equivalent Albums (track sales\/10) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (track streams\/1500), will emerge Sunday.

The 1.021 million second week figure is obviously enough for a second stint at #1 on the album sales chart.<\/p>\n
With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 unit) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 unit) added to the pure sales total, Hits estimates “25” generated 1,065,741 total weekly consumption units. That will be enough for #1 on the consumption-oriented Billboard 200 chart.<\/p>\n
