In a rather intriguing and anticipated co-main-event, Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva battled Michael “The Count” Bisping at Middleweight.<\/p>\n
Originally scheduled for the fall of 2009, the bout was delayed until February’s UFC 110 card in Australia.<\/p>\n

In a close fight, Wanderlei Silva squeaked by with a unanimous decision. Sans the knockout many anticipated, the fight nonetheless played out as expected–Bisping managed most of the fight by scoring some takedowns and connecting with some accurate shots, but the real damage was done by Silva. At critical points in all three rounds, Silva had Bisping in danger–with a vicious flurry at the end of round one, with a tight guillotine at the end of round two and with a big knockdown at the end of round three.<\/p>\n
That damage weighed more heavily on the minds of of the judges, and Silva pulled a victory.<\/p>\n
