Per Nielsen cable data, Wednesday’s episode drew a 1.40 adults 18-49 rating with 2.637 million total viewers. Both numbers trail those of last week’s episode, which achieved a 1.48 with 2.867 million.<\/p>\n
Since the October 7 premiere, every “AHS: Hotel” installment has suffered L+SD losses in adults 18-49 and total viewership.<\/p>\n
Wednesday’s episode was the sixth of the current “Hotel” season. On a live+same-day basis, it was the second-least-watched and lowest-rated such episode in the franchise’s history. Only the sixth “Asylum” episode (0.9, 1.893 million) posted lower live+same-day marks.<\/p>\n
Last season’s sixth episode drew a 1.8 with 3.647 million live+same-day viewers.<\/p>\n
Despite the week-to-week and year-to-year declines, Wednesday’s episode still ranked as the night’s #1 cable program in adults 18-49. Among all network programming, it was its timeslot’s #2 show; only NBC’s “Chicago PD” (1.6) fared better in the key young adults demographic.<\/p>\n
“Hotel,” moreover, continues to enjoy significant boosts from time-shifted viewing.<\/p>\n
Even though all reflected year-to-year declines on a live+same-day basis, the first four “Hotel” episodes were actually tracking ahead of the comparable “Freak Show” airings on a live+3 basis.<\/p>\n
