While it only sold 75,000 pure copies, the addition of Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album equivalent unit) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album equivalent unit) creates a consumption total of 129,000 units. The aforementioned “Cass County” generated only 2,000 units from TEA and SEA for a first-week consumption total of 89,000. It takes #3 on the Billboard 200, behind the Fetty Wap and Drake & Future (107K units) albums.<\/p>\n

The self-titled release from rising star Fetty Wap may have claimed the most buzz, but albums from two veterans generated more pure sales during the September 25-October 1 tracking week.<\/p>\n
Fetty’s album will, however, lead the consumption-driven Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double, Don Henley’s “Cass County” and George Strait’s “Cold Beer Conversation” were the week’s leaders in terms of pure sales. Hits estimates that the former sold 81,987 copies; the latter moved approximately 80,218.<\/p>\n
Because Billboard’s more authoritative data tends to differ slightly from the initial Hits report, one cannot yet definitively say which album will claim #1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. The two country albums will, however, claim the top two spots.<\/p>\n
Fetty Wap’s “Fetty Wap” sold approximately 74,609 pure copies and is thus set for a #3 bow on Top Album Sales. With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album equivalent unit) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album equivalent unit) included, however, its first-week consumption total improves to approximately 125,609 units.<\/p>\n
That will earn it the #1 spot on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
Drake & Future’s “What A Time To Be Alive” will take #2 on the strength of approximately 102,549 consumption units, while the aforementioned “Cass County” and “Cold Beer Conversation” will follow with unit totals of approximately 82,937 and 82,318, respectively.<\/p>\n
