That earns Bring Me The Horizon’s album the #2 spot on this week’s Billboard 200. The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind The Madness,” which shifted 99,000 total units (albeit fewer pure sales), claims #1 for a third straight week.<\/p>\n

A competitive US album sales race appears to have fallen in favor of Bring Me The Horizon’s new “That’s The Spirit.”<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double, “That’s The Spirit” sold approximately 53,994 pure US copies during the September 11-17 tracking week. That narrowly gives it the edge over Slayer’s “Repentless,” which posted a sales total in the 51,080 range.<\/p>\n
Brett Eldredge’s “Illinois” (~48,717) and The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind The Madness” (~46,332) also landed close to the top of the sales mountain.<\/p>\n
Billboard’s more authoritative data, which will formally confirm the winner, is due Sunday. It will differ slightly from that reported by Hits, but it will most likely reveal the same outcome: “That’s The Spirit” and “Repentless” at the top of the Top Album Sales chart.<\/p>\n
While it again falls short of #1 in the pure sales race, the aforementioned “Beauty Behind The Madness” should easily score a third week at #1 on the consumption-oriented Billboard 200.
