As a result, it tops the weekend box office for a third straight week.<\/p>\n
“Compton” earned an estimated $13.2 million from Friday to Sunday. That gave it the edge over the aforementioned “War Room,” which settles for #2 on the strength of its $11.0 million.<\/p>\n
“Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” earns #3 courtesy $8.3 million, while new release “No Escape” debuts at #4 with a similar $8.3 million. The debut is a soft one for “No Escape,” which launched in a healthy 3,355 theaters and represented the weekend’s highest-profile premiere.<\/p>\n
“Sinister 2” completed the top five with $4.7 million.<\/p>\n
