According to Hits Daily Double, Carly Rae Jepsen’s “E-MO-TION” sold approximately 15,815 traditional copies during its first week of release (August 21-27).<\/p>\n
Billboard’s final data — due by Monday or Tuesday — will differ slightly, but it should still confirm a total above the industry’s initial 12-14,000 forecast.<\/p>\n
With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album equivalent unit) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album equivalent unit) included, Hits estimates that “E-MO-TION” generated a first-week consumption total of approximately 18,182 total units.<\/p>\n
That should be enough to position the album within the Top 25 — and likely the Top 20 — on the consumption-oriented Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
Carly Rae Jepsen’s previous album “KISS” debuted at #6 on the then-sales-only Billboard 200.
