Update:<\/b> Thanks to exposure received during Taylor Swift’s “1989 World Tour” shows and FOX’s 2015 Teen Choice Awards, Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It (featuring Kid Ink)” and Little Mix’s “Black Magic” have enjoyed upward movement on the iTunes all-genre single sales chart.<\/p>\n

As of press time, “Worth It” was up to #22 on the chart. Fifth Harmony performed the song with Taylor Swift at Friday’s “1989 World Tour” show; “Worth It” then won Choice Summer Song at the Teen Choice Awards.<\/p>\n

Little Mix’s “Black Magic,” which was not even in the Top 75 as of Saturday afternoon, is up to #44. After performing the song at Taylor Swift’s Saturday night “1989” concert, Little Mix then brought “Black Magic” to the Teen Choice stage on Sunday night.

While many will naturally pit the songs against each other, Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It” and Little Mix’s “Black Magic” have several things in common.<\/p>\n

They both come from preeminent contemporary girl groups.<\/p>\n

They both received high-profile exposure during Taylor Swift’s “1989 World Tour.”<\/p>\n

They both enjoyed subsequent boosts on the US iTunes single sales chart.<\/p>\n

Going into Friday’s Santa Clara “1989” show, “Worth It (featuring Kid Ink)” had seemingly peaked from a visibility standpoint. In the time since Fifth Harmony joined an enthusiastic — and fully costumed — Taylor Swift on stage, the song has enjoyed upward mobility. It currently holds the #23 position on iTunes and has only just begun to show signs of a slowing pace.<\/p>\n

Taylor Swift offered\u00a0Little Mix the chance to join her for a performance on Saturday’s show. Following the collaborative performance, “Black Magic” also began making upward moves on the iTunes chart.<\/p>\n
