According to Mediabase, “Cool for the Summer” won weekly pickups from a whopping 150 monitored pop stations. Save for Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me,” which received 156 adds this past March, no song has ever received as much weekly support from pop radio.<\/p>\n
Not simply of a high quantity, the song’s weekly support list is also rich in quality. All but one pop station within the top five markets (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas) added “Cool for the Summer” this week.<\/p>\n
Closest on this week’s add board is R. City’s “Locked Away (featuring Adam Levine),” which scored adds from 38 monitored pop stations. Dwarfed by the “Cool for the Summer” total, the count is objectively solid.<\/p>\n
After ranking as most added for two straight weeks, Selena Gomez’ “Good For You (featuring A$AP Rocky)” slips to third-most added this week. It received pickups from an additional 30 monitored pop stations.<\/p>\n
Added by 19 stations, Charlie Puth’s “Marvin Gaye (featuring Meghan Trainor)” registers as fourth-most added. A total of 18 monitored adds earns Pitbull’s “Fun (featuring Chris Brown)” the fifth-most added distinction.<\/p>\n
Other notable pop options: Silento’s “Watch Me” (16 adds, 6th-most added), Natalie La Rose’s “Around the World (featuring Fetty Wap)” (15 adds, 7th-most added), Afrojack’s “SUMMERTHING!
