Unimpressive performances from a pair of high-profile new releases allowed “Jurassic World” to retain its weekend box office crown.<\/p>\n

Per studio estimates, “Jurassic World” claims #1 on the strength of its $30.9 million in weekend receipts. Through four weekends, its cumulative gross now stands at $558.1 million.<\/p>\n

Another holdover also outperformed the newcomers. “Inside Out,” that holdover, earns second courtesy its $30.1 million weekend. After three weekends of availability, it boasts a cume of $246.2 million.<\/p>\n

Unable to seize the throne, new release “Terminator: Genisys” at least ranked as the stronger of the week’s two newcomers. Third for the weekend, it earned $28.7 million between Friday and Sunday. Since launching Wednesday, it has earned a total of $44.2 million.<\/p>\n

The box office haul for new release “Magic Mike XXL” was certainly not extra large. Responsible for a disappointing $11.6 million in weekend ticket sales, it claims fourth on the weekend chart. Since its July 1 debut, it has amassed a total of $26.7 million.<\/p>\n

“Ted 2” earns fifth thanks to its $11.0 million weekend.
