<\/a>A strong response to last week’s “Glee” fall finale sent sales of the accompanying soundtrack albums through the roof.<\/p>\n
“Glee: Volume 2,” which will debut on tomorrow’s Billboard 200, is expected to land in either third or fourth place with about 170,000 units sold. Though it was no match for holdover hits from Susan Boyle (nearly 600,000 more for “I Dreamed a Dream”) and Andrea Bocelli (about 400,000 for “My Christmas”), its first week tally will greatly exceed the 120-130,000 that was projected prior to the airing of Wednesday’s finale.<\/p>\n
Buzz for the episode also boosted sales of the first soundtrack album, which might even leap into the top ten on sales of 90,000, an increase of more than 100% from last week’s total.<\/p>\n
Most of the other new releases performed as expected. Chris Brown’s “Graffiti” should just beat the 100,000 threshold, while Gucci Mane’s “The State vs. Radric Davis” should land at 90,000. 30 Seconds to Mars’ “This is War” will do roughly 71,000, just narrowly topping the estimated 68,000 for Jimmy Buffett’s “Buffet Hotel.”<\/p>\n
Other sales estimates, all courtesy Hits Daily Double’s Tuesday data: Snoop Dogg’s “Malice N Wonderland” (61,000), Timbaland’s “Shock Value II” (38,000), Clipse’s “Til the Casket Drops” (30,000).<\/p>\n
