Update:<\/b> According to Nielsen Music, Chris Stapleton’s “Traveller” moved 27,032 pure copies in its first week of release. That first week sales tally, which powers “Traveller” to #2 on the Top Country Albums chart and #8 on the all-genre Top Album Sales chart, is 2015’s best for a country artist’s debut release.<\/em><\/p>\n

It is one of the ten best for a debut country album released within the past five years.<\/em><\/p>\n

With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) included, “Traveller” posted a first week consumption total of approximately 30,000 units. It debuts at #14 on the revamped, consumption-oriented Billboard 200 chart.<\/em>

Thanks to a first week sales total of just greater than 27,000, Chris Stapleton’s critically acclaimed “Traveller” starts at #2 on the Billboard Top Country Album Sales chart.<\/p>\n

As far as country albums go, only Zac Brown Band’s “Jekyll + Hyde,” which moved about 56,000 copies last week, drove more sales during the May 4-10 tracking week.<\/p>\n

According to Mercury Nashville, the album’s first week sales tally is 2015’s best for a country artist’s debut release.<\/p>\n
