Update 2: <\/strong>The press release announcing that Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” video will open the 2015 Billboard Music Awards also officially labels the song as the fourth “1989” single.<\/em><\/p>\n

The news should not come as a surprise.\u00a0 Headline Planet first identified “Bad Blood” as the follow-up to “Style” in a report last month.<\/em><\/p>\n

At the time, Republic listed a “Bad Blood” remix on its official radio promotions website.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sans the word “remix,” Thursday’s round of confirmation simply lists “Bad Blood” as the next single. In the coming days, word will likely emerge regarding whether the single version of “Bad Blood” will be the original album cut or a new, remixed version.<\/em><\/p>\n

Update:<\/b> The “Bad Blood” music video will open the May 17 Billboard Music Awards.<\/em><\/p>\n

“The never-before-seen video includes multiple starring roles played by a cast of Golden Globe winners, Emmy winners, Grammy winners, an Oscar nominee, blockbuster movie stars, as well as both new and iconic supermodels and was directed by Joseph Kahn,” says the press release.<\/em><\/p>\n

Last month, Headline Planet broke the news that “Bad Blood” was slated as the fourth official single from Taylor Swift’s “1989.”<\/a><\/p>\n

At the time, Republic’s radio promotions website confirmed the story. It listed a “Bad Blood” remix as an official single, and it confirmed a May 19 radio impact date. Republic later removed that bulletin, but it refrained from denying the story’s authenticity.<\/p>\n

The “Swiftie” community nonetheless proceeded with knowledge that “Bad Blood” was almost certainly the next single. That assumption provided context when photos from a celebrity-rich music video shoot emerged. It was unequivocally viewed as the “Bad Blood” video.<\/p>\n

While Republic has yet to reconfirm “Bad Blood” as the next single, Taylor Swift has now confirmed that the video shoot was indeed for “Bad Blood.” In a Twitter post Thursday morning, she shared a poster for the upcoming video.<\/p>\n

Directed by Joseph Kahn, the video arrives on May 17 (the same day as the annual Billboard Music Awards). Swift plays a character named Catastrophe.<\/p>\n
