The CMA Awards predictably topped the ratings Wednesday, garnering an average of 17.3 million viewers and a 5.3 in the adults 18-49 demographic.<\/p>\n
Some shows, including FOX’s “Glee,” nonetheless held up against the monster ABC broadcast.<\/p>\n
Even more impressive about the “Glee” performance (7.5 million viewers, 3.3 rating) is the fact that it went up against the strongest hour of the CMA broadcast–from 9PM to 10PM, the awards show averaged at least a 5.5 rating with 17.7 million viewers.<\/p>\n
FOX was not totally immune from the shadow of the ABC show, however, as “So You Think You Can Dance” struggled at 8PM. The show did a mere 2.2 rating with 5.7 million viewers, marking a double-digit percentage decline from last week. Poor reviews for this season’s contestants are clearly not helping matters.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, CBS saw some big success with the absence of scripted programming on ABC.
