Update 2:<\/b> While not as sharp as was first reported, NBC’s “AD: The Bible Continues” absolutely endured a big drop in week three.<\/p>\n
Per final broadcast data, Sunday’s episode posted a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating with 6.36 million viewers. Both numbers were down considerably from those of the previous episode, which drew a 1.7 with 7.75 million viewers.<\/p>\n
This weekend’s episode did face unusually strong competition from CBS’ 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The effect it had on the “AD” performance is unclear, but an improvement for this coming Sunday’s episode would go a long way in proving the ACMs ceremony–not disinterest in the series–was the main culprit behind this week’s drop.<\/p>\n
While the final broadcast ratings were slightly kinder than the fast nationals to “AD,” they were harsher to “American Odyssey.” NBC’s 10PM drama actually drew a poor 0.5 adults 18-49 rating with 3.11 million viewers.

\nUpdate:<\/b> When it comes to Sunday’s editions of “AD: The Bible Continues” and “American Odyssey,” fast national data paints an even bleaker portrait than that depicted by the overnight metered markets.<\/p>\n
Down sharply from last week’s broadcast, Sunday’s “AD” drew a paltry 1.1 adults 18-49 rating with 6.28 million viewers. The previous installment, which was itself down significantly from the series premiere, drew a 1.7 with 7.75 million viewers.<\/p>\n
Lead-out “American Odyssey” also crumbled this week. After posting a 0.8 with 4.05 million viewers last week, the show drew a mere 0.6 rating with 3.29 million viewers this Sunday.<\/p>\n
Worth noting: NBC’s two dramas faced additional competition from CBS’ Academy of Country Music Awards. But insofar as the originals on FOX and ABC were not really affected at all, it is doubtful the ACMs were the only<\/i> reason “AD” and “Odyssey” fell this week.

Metered market ratings data reveals that NBC’s Sunday dramas both suffered household ratings losses this week.<\/p>\n
The former, which occupies the 9PM slot, slipped by 11% to a 4.1 overnight household rating. The latter, which airs at 10PM, drew a 2.1, which trails last week’s mark by a sizable 16%.<\/p>\n
In addition to facing “Game of Thrones,” “AD” also contended with CBS’ airing of the 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. “Odyssey,” too, did battle with the awards telecast.<\/p>\n
