While it only sold 45,000 traditional copies during the most recent tracking week, the “Furious 7” soundtrack enjoyed a sizable lift from Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale). The result was a consumption total of 111,000 units and a #1 ranking on the Billboard 200.

Not significantly aided by TEA and SEA, the aforementioned “Future Hearts” posted a weekly consumption total of 80,000 units. It grabs #2 on the BB200.

The top ten on this week’s Billboard 200 follows:

1) Furious 7 – 111K total units (45K from pure album sales)
2) All Time Low – Future Hearts – 80K total units (75K from pure album sales)
3) 50 Shades of Grey – 47K total units
4) Maroon 5 – V – 44K total units
5) Taylor Swift – 1989 – 44K total units
6) Sam Smith – In the Lonely Hour – 43K
7) Kendrick Lamar – To Pimp a Butterfly – 42K
8) Drake – If You’re Reading This it’s Too Late – 40K
9) Ed Sheeran – x – 39K
10) Meghan Trainor – Title – 34K

=============

While All Time Low’s “Future Hearts” easily won the weekly album sales race, “Furious 7” generated the greatest number of weekly consumption units.

It, therefore, will top the revamped Billboard 200 chart.

Per Hits Daily Double’s data, the All Time Low album moved ~70,054 traditional copies during the most recent tracking week. Billboard’s more authoritative data will differ slightly, but it will not dispute the conclusion: “Future Hearts” was the week’s best-seller. It will debut at #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

The aforementioned “Furious 7” soundtrack posted a weekly pure sales figure of only ~44,943. The addition of Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale), however, brings the album’s weekly consumption total (sales + TEA + SEA) to ~107,531 units.

Soundtrack song “See You Again,” which was expected to move more than 400,000 copies during the tracking week, surely played a huge role in driving that consumption boost.

Boosted only modestly by TEA and SEA, the “Future Hearts” consumption total registers at ~73,488.

“Furious 7” will thus top the consumption-oriented Billboard 200.

— From a pure sales standpoint, the week’s other top performers include Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly” (~27,290), Taylor Swift’s “1989” (~26,845), the “Empire” soundtrack (~24,163) and Wale’s “The Album About Nothing” (~23,730).

— From a consumption unit standpoint, the week’s other top performers include Taylor Swift’s “1989” (~44,553), Maroon 5’s “V” (~42,782), Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly” (~37,290), Ed Sheeran’s “x” (~36,982) and Drake’s “If You’re Reading This it’s Too Late” (~36,755).

[183,1047,206
947,54,314,3406,3959,3946,700,2429,3912,145,438

All Time Low's "Future Hearts" Wins Sales Race with 75K; "Furious 7" Tops BB200 (Updated)

<meta name="description" content="Update: An opening week sales total of 75,000 powered All Time Low's "Future Hearts" to #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.
