On track to sell 85-90,000 traditional copies this week, Wale’s “The Album About Nothing” will be the week’s most successful new release (and overall album).<\/p>\n
It is not, however, the week’s only new entry.<\/p>\n
As far as the week’s pure sales race goes, three other new releases will join Wale’s “Nothing” and Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly” (~55-60,000 sales) in the weekly top five.<\/p>\n
Ludacris’ new “Ludaversal” will debut in the region with approximately 55-60,000 sales, says Hits Daily Double.<\/p>\n
The top five’s break from hip hop, meanwhile, will come with Death Cab for Cutie’s “Kintsugi.” The album is set to move 45-50,000 traditional copies during its first week of availability. Darius Rucker’s “Southern Style” will follow with 40-45,000 copies.<\/p>\n
Both such totals represent steep album-to-album declines. “Codes and Keys,” Death Cab’s previous album, moved 102,000 copies in its inaugural frame. Rucker’s predecessor “True Believers” sold 83,000 in its first week.<\/p>\n
