Update:<\/strong>\u00a0Tuesday’s “The Voice” clip show (2.0 adults 18-49 rating, 8.57 million viewers) fared markedly worse than original episodes typically do in the timeslot.<\/p>\n

Despite that reality, NBC’s comedy lead-outs avoided big week-over-week drops. \u00a0“Undateable” fell very slightly (1.4 adults 18-49 rating with 4.98 million viewers this week vs. a 1.5 with 5.18 million last week), while “One Big Happy” matched its previous demo rating and\u00a0bested its previous viewership total (1.2 rating with 3.82 million viewers this week vs. a 1.2 with 3.79 million last week).<\/p>\n

NBC closed its evening with a “Chicago Fire” re-run (0.9, 3.87 million).<\/p>\n

Instead of airing an original edition of “The Voice,” NBC slotted a clip show in the Tuesday at 8PM timeslot this week.<\/p>\n

As a result, comedies “Undateable” and “One Big Happy” avoid credit for avoiding major drops.<\/p>\n

Despite dramatically reduced lead-in support (a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating with 8.37 million viewers for this week’s “The Voice” special versus a 2.8 with 11.62 million for last week’s airing), “Undateable” nearly matched last week’s demo and viewership marks.<\/p>\n

Per fast national data, this week’s “Undateable” drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating with 5.05 million viewers. Last week’s episode scored a 1.5 with 5.18 million in the finals.<\/p>\n

“One Big Happy,” which leads out of “Undateable,” matched last week’s 1.2 adults 18-49 rating and actually enjoyed a slight week-over-week gain in viewership. This week’s episode reached 3.98 million viewers; last week’s attracted 3.79 million.<\/p>\n

Neither show should be celebrated for its ultimately unremarkable ratings, but both deserve credit for holding up in the face of more difficult circumstances.<\/p>\n
