The Weeknd’s “Earned It” leverages pop radio’s greatest weekly airplay gain to officially reach the format’s Top 15.<\/p>\n
“Earned It,” which is cut from the “50 Shades of Grey” soundtrack, rises five places to a new high of #13 on this week’s official Mediabase pop airplay chart. The song’s #13 position comes thanks to the 7,158 spins it earned during the March 22-28 tracking week.<\/p>\n
The total bests last week’s count by a whopping 2,365 plays, which represents the pop format’s greatest week-over-week spin gain.<\/p>\n
And pop was not the only format at which “Earned It” earned a “greatest gainer” distinction.<\/p>\n
The song also enjoyed the biggest week-over-week spin gain at rhythmic radio. Good enough for #4 (+3) on the rhythmic airplay chart, its tracking week spin count of 5,013 bests last week’s total by a healthy 769 plays.<\/p>\n
Had Rihanna not introduced “Bitch Better Have My Money” this week, “Earned It” also would have been the greatest gainer at urban radio. Up to #8 (+4) this week, “Earned It” received 2,682 tracking week spins. That bests last week’s count by 490 (Rihanna’s song, which was not in the market during the previous tracking week, received 580 weekly spins).<\/p>\n
While not one of the format’s five greatest gainers, the song is also making an impact at hot adult contemporary radio. It claims the #24 position (+2) on this week’s Hot AC chart.<\/p>\n
