UFC President Dana White confirmed to Yahoo! Sports that Brock Lesnar has pulled out of the scheduled UFC 106 main event.<\/p>\n
Lesnar, the promotion’s undisputed heavyweight champion, was to defend against contender Shane Carwin. Already on the map of MMA diehards after making quick work of Gabriel Gonzaga, Carwin brought heat to the planned UFC 106 encounter by publicly criticizing Brock for his post-UFC 100 comments.<\/p>\n
Supplemented by a co-main-event of Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin, the card was expected to top 1 million buys. Illness, however, took its toll on the megacard, with Lesnar pulling out due to a sickness that has kept him out of training for a month.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe said he\u2019s never been this sick in his life,\u201d said White. \u201cHe said it\u2019s been going on for a long time and he just hasn\u2019t been able to shake it.\u201d<\/p>\n
