After showing signs of a slight ratings rebound, last night’s “Gossip Girl” tanked in both viewership and the young adult demo number.<\/p>\n
The latest installment posted a mere 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 with 1.9 million viewers. A solid decline from last week’s showing, the rating indicates a combined dissatisfaction with last week’s wedding episode and a lack of interest in the Chuck Bass-male kiss stunt.<\/p>\n
“One Tree Hill,” the lead-in, was also down with 2.3 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. The shows, according to PI Feedback, were down by about 40% from the same week last year.<\/p>\n
NBC’s lineup was weak yet again, though not all suffered declines. “Heroes” rose slightly to 5.7 million viewers and a 2.5, while “Trauma” held steady with 5.5 million viewers and a 1.8. “The Jay Leno Show,” however, moved to a brand new Monday night low with 4.7 million viewers and a 1.4 rating.<\/p>\n
On the positive side, CBS’ lineup held up rather well. “How I Met Your Mother” was up slightly with 8.8 million viewers and a 3.5, while “Accidentally on Purpose” made a sudden leap to 8.6 million and a 3.4 rating (which could end up being explained by San Diego market coverage of last night’s Monday Night Football game). “Two and a Half Men” (13.8 million, 4.7) and “The Big Bang Theory” (12.7 million, 5.1) made gains in the demographic, while “CSI: Miami” slid slightly to 12.7 million viewers with a 3.8 rating.<\/p>\n
On ABC, “Dancing with the Stars” was roughly steady with 16.5 million viewers and either a 3.5 or 3.6 in adults 18-49. “Castle” wrapped the night up with 9.9 million viewers and a 2.4 rating, although a slight “Dancing” overrun might be providing a minor spike.<\/p>\n
