The back-to-back premiere episodes each delivered 2.3 adults 18-49 ratings. Viewership for the 9PM installment clocked in at 5.70 million, while the 9:30PM edition drew 5.67 million.<\/em><\/p>\n

No network program fared as well as “Last Man on Earth” in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic.<\/em><\/p>\n

Earlier in the night, FOX offered “Bob’s Burgers” (1.4, 2.98 million), “The Simpsons” (1.8, 3.97 million) and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (1.8, 3.64 million).<\/em>

While the number itself does not establish FOX’s new “The Last Man on Earth” as a smash hit, it comes across very favorably in context.<\/p>\n

In delivering a 3.7 overnight household rating in the first half hour and a 3.8 in the second half hour, the series premiere built considerably on its “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” lead-in. That episode, which aired at 8:30PM ET, drew a 2.3.<\/p>\n

“Bob’s Burgers” (1.6) and “The Simpsons” (2.4) led into “B99.”<\/p>\n

As far as the overnights go, “Last Man” ranked third among the timeslot’s four major network programs. Given its expected skew, however, it very likely ranked first in the crucial adults 18-49 demographic.<\/p>\n
