With a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating and 9.33 million viewers, ABC’s “Scandal” obliterated its “The Blacklist” competition in adults 18-49. NBC’s flagship drama settled for a series low 1.7 with 8.19 million.<\/em><\/p>\n

Update:<\/b> After scoring a comfortable adults 18-49 victory over “The Blacklist” last week, “Scandal” enjoyed a dominant one this Thursday.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to fast national data, the latest edition of ABC’s “Scandal” drew a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating with 9.27 million viewers. NBC’s “The Blacklist,” which aired in the same 9PM timeslot, slipped to a series low 1.7 adults 18-49 rating with 7.98 million viewers.<\/em><\/p>\n

Per final data, last week’s “Scandal” drew a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating with 9.58 million viewers.\u00a0 “The Blacklist” drew a 2.4 with 10.11 million viewers.<\/em><\/p>\n

Since CBS aired a re-run of 8PM comedy “The Big Bang Theory” this week, “Scandal” was able to reign as the night’s top-rated program in adults 18-49.\u00a0 CBS’ “Big Bang” re-run, CBS’ “Mom” and FOX’s “American Idol” did, however, draw greater viewership totals.<\/em><\/p>\n

Other ABC programming: “Grey’s Anatomy” (2.3, 7.72 million) and “How to Get Away with Murder” (2.7, 8.42 million)<\/em><\/p>\n

Other NBC programming: “The Slap” (1.1, 5.08 million) and “Allegiance” (0.7, 3.61 million).<\/em><\/p>\n

Neither ABC’s “Scandal” nor NBC’s “The Blacklist” matched last week’s performance in the overnight household ratings.<\/p>\n

But insofar as it held up better, the ABC drama actually widened its lead.<\/p>\n

ABC’s 9PM flagship drew a 7.1 overnight household rating this week, while NBC’s “The Blacklist” settled for a 5.9. The two dramas were down from the 7.5 and 6.8 they respectively posted last week.<\/p>\n

Because last week’s overnight household ratings did not provide an especially accurate indicator of performance in the finals (“Scandal” led by a far greater percentage in adults 18-49, but “The Blacklist” actually led in total viewership), it is too early to know if “Scandal” also widened its lead in the demo and\/or claimed a lead in audience.<\/p>\n

The ratings differential does not, however, provide any optimism for those hoping “The Blacklist” gained notable ground in its new timeslot battle.<\/p>\n
